What is gurjan plywood?
Gurjan plywood in our furniture range has gurjan face and back veneers over a Styrax or Eucalyptus plantation-wood core. The outer veneer supplies the red-brown appearance, while the core determines much of the panel weight.
Is your gurjan plywood full gurjan?
We make gurjan-faced panels: gurjan outer veneers on a Vietnamese Styrax or Eucalyptus core. Both species are named on the quotation.
Is gurjan plywood waterproof?
Choose UF for dry interiors, melamine-fortified bonding for humid furniture, or phenolic WBP for exterior exposure. Gurjan provides the decorative face. Exposed wood faces and cut edges need the finish appropriate to the application.
Does E0 tell me which glue is used?
E0 describes the emission requirement. UF, melamine-fortified and phenolic describe adhesive systems. Our quotation lists the adhesive and emission class separately; UF with E0 emission is standard for furniture panels.
Which core should I choose for gurjan furniture plywood?
Choose Styrax when lower panel weight is useful for cabinet bodies and handling; its nominal density is about 500 kg/m³. Eucalyptus is denser at 650–750 kg/m³. An 18 mm sheet in 1220 × 2440 mm weighs about 26.8 kg on Styrax or 34.8–40.2 kg on Eucalyptus, before packing.
Can I clear-coat a gurjan face?
Yes. Gurjan’s red-brown natural grain suits clear lacquer and stain. We supply sanded and polished faces, with the outward and reverse appearance selected separately against the approved sample.
How do I specify the face grade?
We select face and back separately against your appearance sample. The sample defines accepted knots, patches, joints and colour range. Selected faces suit clear-finished furniture; coated or concealed faces use the agreed repair limits.
What thicknesses and sheet formats are available?
Gurjan panels are available from 3–40 mm in 1220 × 2440 and 1250 × 2500 mm formats. Custom formats include 1220 × 2500 and 1220 × 2280 mm. The 3–6 mm thin panels use five-ply construction. Add thickness tolerance and grain direction when sending a cutting schedule.
Can gurjan plywood be supplied cut to size?
Yes. One panel can be cut into 4, 6 or 8 pieces. We also quote from component drawings, with each part size bundled and marked separately. Cut-to-size panels ship regularly to Italy and other European markets.
How does gurjan compare with bintangor or birch?
Gurjan gives a red-brown natural face, bintangor a warm reddish figure, and birch a pale cream appearance. We offer these faces on Styrax or Eucalyptus cores, so the buyer can compare the face while keeping the core and adhesive constant.
What checks should I make before loading?
Match face and back to the approved samples, read thickness at several points with a caliper, and inspect a cut edge for the ordered core. Verify dimensions, grain direction and bundle marks against the cutting list. We photograph and film the goods and loading sequence before the container is closed.
How many gurjan plywood sheets fit in a container?
At 18 mm a 40HC carries 990 Styrax-core sheets (18 bundles of 55, about 53 m³) or 795 Eucalyptus-core sheets (15 bundles of 53, about 43 m³), planned to 28,000 kg of panels. If your booking caps cargo lower, we cut the count to fit and confirm it in the loading plan.
What are the minimum order and lead time?
The minimum is 1×40HC. Production takes 15–45 days after deposit, with sea transit additional. Payment is 30% deposit and 70% against scanned B/L; T/T and irrevocable L/C at sight are accepted. Send the destination with your specification for FOB Hai Phong, CFR or CIF terms.
Can I receive samples before placing a container order?
Yes, we supply free samples in the specified thickness, core and face/back selection. The approved appearance sample becomes the reference for grading the production sheets.
